The Sound of Spring

Bird song is the quintessential sound of spring, but have you ever tried to identify a bird from its song and been frustrated? Join keen birder and Heronswood Director Dr. Patrick McMillan and train your ears to understand the language of bird song. Patrick will discuss why birds sing, what they are saying, and will help you to identify garden birds based on song alone. This class starts early (8am), as bird song is at its peak first thing in the morning. Bring binoculars.

All in-person classes are limited to 15 attendees in order to facilitate social distancing. Masks must be worn. A significant portion of this class is held outside, so attendees should dress appropriately. Class may be rescheduled in the event of bad weather.
