History
The process of creating Heronswood Garden started in 1987 when the co-founders took possession of the property and transformed it over the next two decades into a garden of international renown. In 2000 it was sold to a national plant and seed distribution company, but was left to neglect after 2006 and allowed to grow wild. In 2012 Heronswood was purchased by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, who guided it through a rebirth with an exciting new inventory of plants, a regrown landscape and new themed garden areas. This thriving botanical garden is now a beautiful setting for both garden enthusiasts and one-of-a-kind events.
Ceremonies
This 15 acre world-renowned garden can hold ceremonies in multiple spots on the property. Couples can exchange their vows in the beautiful Potager garden or one of the many lawns, which can accommodate anywhere from 50 to 150 guests.
Receptions & Event Accommodations
Heronswood Garden can comfortably host wedding receptions and special events ranging from 30 to 150 guests, with flexible layout options to suit your vision. We offer a variety of table configurations, including 60-inch round tables, 6-foot rectangular tables, and 8-foot banquet tables, allowing for customized seating and dining arrangements.
For covered outdoor celebrations, Heronswood features custom wedding tents measuring 20′ × 50′ and 40′ × 60′, providing an elegant and practical solution for receptions in any weather.
The Garden House includes two private wedding party quarters, offering a comfortable and convenient space for the wedding party to prepare before the ceremony and reception.

The mission of the Heronswood Garden is to restore, maintain and develop a horticultural facility, making it a truly special place for events of all kinds. With over 8,000 plants in a variety of shapes, sizes, fragrances and colors, this property is ideal for a lovely springtime wedding when all of the flowers are blooming.
