Private Tours

Private guided tours are available year-round and last approximately two hours. They are led by senior garden staff and generally take place during normal garden open hours.

Cost: 

$300 minimum covers up to the first 10 people, then $30 per additional person (e.g., 15 people=$450). Tour groups are capped around 20 people. If more, then more docents may need be required and groups are split to offer a more quality experience. 

School/youth groups: $200 minimum, covering up to the first 10 people, then $20/person. Cost is reduced to $20/person only for groups that are predominantly made up of children/youth but extended to their adult chaperones. Tour groups are capped around 20 people.

Tours are scheduled first come, first served, generally Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Payment must be made prior to the start time of the tour, and can be made at the Vistor Center ticketing office before the tour start time on the day of the tour. If attendees are known prior to the tour date, payments can be accepted over the phone (360) 297-9621 or a check can be mailed to Port Gamble S'Klallam Foundation, 31912 Little Boston Rd NE, Kingston WA 98346 and made out to "Heronswood Garden". 

Tour start times are usually either 10:00am or 1:00pm, with some flexibility. For larger groups (>20), during windy conditions, or for the hearing impaired, we have audio tour systems for clearer broadcast. A picnic area is provided for visitors to enjoy their lunches or snacks and refreshments are sold in our gift shop. Boxed lunches from the nearby tribally owned Point Julia Cafe can be a nice choice. Arrangements for ordering and pickup must be handled by the tour group organizer(s). Click here for more information:

Scheduled Public Tours
