Heronswood Garden Photography Competition Gallery 2025
Congratulations to the 12 photographers whose images from the garden will be featured in our 2026 calendar and printed for display throughout the garden for the year. Enjoy the 12 winning selections in the slideshow below.
Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe Chairwoman Amber Caldera picked the winning photo from the 12 and chose Bethany McDonalds's wonderful image of a frog resting (or hiding?) in a flower petal.
We received many wonderful photos taken at Heronswood Garden, selecting 12 for a garden calendar was difficult. The "winners" were chosen by 3 judges—a photographer/designer, the director of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Foundation, and the Tribes's administrative secretary.
The photos selected for the new calendar were taken by John Stranger (January), Jennifer K Wells (February), Nico Francois (March), Mary Palmer (April), Bethany McDonald (May), Crystal Pillifant (June), Jeff Westhead (July), Susan McDougall (August), Rita Guhrauer (September), Leela Menon (October), Jordan Hart Mylie (November), Michelle Jensen (December).
We learned a few things in the process of running this contest and look forward to soliciting photos for another contest in 2026.
